For service to be activated at a new location, an inspection of the location must be completed before you apply and pay a deposit. New electrical and utility hookups must be approved for any required permits or tap fees by the Building Official.
Prepaid metering is available. Call 229-723-3677 for details.
Connecting residential service
- Fill out the Residential Application Package for Utility Services, available below or at Utility Billing in City Hall.
- Bring valid photo identification and proof of property ownership or a lease or rental agreement.
- Return the application to Utility Billing, where a credit check is run and your deposit is determined.

About the system
The City of Blakely is a member of the MEAG Power system. The department uses electronic metering, maintains rights-of-way, and follows a pole change-out policy while continuously upgrading the system.
